One of Soundwave’s mini-cassettes, Rumble and his fellow mini-cassettes were one of the secrets of the larger Decepticon’s surprising competence. Unlike most of Soundwave’s companions, which generally focused on stealth, Rumble was a straight-up brawler, though his ability to cause seismic disturbances also came into play to either disrupt the larger Autobots or to affect hydroelectric dams… The physics there are a little questionable, but it does, somehow.
Fairly tough despite his size (often depicted as no larger than a human in the cartoon), Rumble can stand up to much larger Autobots, both by being abnormally strong and just by being a tricky target to hit. He also sometimes likes to rhyme when he taunts his opponents, which no doubt adds insult to injury.
Rumble is a fairly expensive collection item for his size. This is likely a side effect of the fact that he was usually released with another Decepticon – either fellow mini-cassette Ravage, or cassette player Soundwave. He can also still occasionally be located with those particular figures.
