One of the Decepticon triple-changers, Blitzwing possesses the enviable alternate forms of a fighter jet and a tank. Unfortunately he never really uses either to their full potential, combining those most common Decepticon traits of stupidity and disloyalty.
Blitzwing has the distinction of being such a mo20ental jerk that he ends up getting kicked out of the Decepticons, a group comprised almost exclusively of socially maladjusted psychopaths. Considering that he pulled a gun on Galvatron, he probably got off light. He was just fortunate this was the TV show, not the movie, or he’d probably just have gotten shot. Blitzwing left, never to be seen again – except when the animation budget dipped considerably, sometimes resulting in his accidental addition to scenes with big groups of extras hanging around.
Blitzwing isn’t too hard to get ahold of for collectors, as he’s not a particularly popular model with non-collectors and was rereleased in 2005. Original 1985 models are harder to come by, especially mint in box.
