Despite its initial run going off the air in the 1960s, The Flintstones franchise was able to remain relevant and successful well into the latter half of the twentieth century. One way it was able to do this was by spinning off into the video game market, including two games for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The titles of these two Flintstones NES games were “The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy” and “The Flintstones: The Surprise at Dinosaur Peak!”
The first Flintstones NES game, released in 1991, focuses on Fred’s quest to rescue his and Barney’s pet dinosaurs, Dino and Hoppy, who have been kidnapped into the future. In the second title, which is very rare, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm have been kidnapped and the player can play as either Fred or Barney.
