Snuffy from Sesame Street is one of children’s very favorite characters. He’s a woolly mammoth whose full name is Mr. Snuffleupagus. His long brown hair and long trunk are incredibly graceful… for a big woolly mammoth!
When he was first introduced to the show, he was never seen. All the other Muppets and people at Sesame Street thought that Big Bird had an imaginary friend. Then he slowly started making appearances. He eventually became a regular character on Sesame Street. In 1985, Snuffy became part of the regular cast. Big Bird finally proved that Snuffy was real and not just his imaginary friend. The other characters apologized for not believing him. From that point on, Snuffy was friends with all of the characters on Sesame Street.
Not only is Snuffy in most of the episodes, he interacts with all characters on a regular basis. No more “imaginary friend” status for him!
And, Snuffy even attends Snufflegarten!
