Sesame Street has been a household name since its premiere in 1969. The show was the first program dedicated to teaching children on a preschool educational level. Sesame Street’s target audience is children from the age of three to five years old.
Sesame Street uses strong visuals, lots of popping colors and full cast of Muppets created by Jim Henson to teach children their ABC’s and 123’s. (Muppets are the puppets that Jim Henson created.)
One of the well known Muppets is Grover. He was initially introduced to the world during an Ed Sullivan Christmas Special in 1967. His character on Sesame Street is very kind, helpful, and funny.
Grover has been featured in Sesame Street skits with Mr. Johnson. In these skits, he takes on several customer service jobs, which includes him being a waiter. Poor Mr. Johnson! Grover usually is able to frustrate him while carrying on his duties and actually trying to be helpful.
