By far, the most intriguing character on Sesame Street is Big Bird. This over-sized ostrich with the bright yellow plumes, is a “forever six” year old… who has the same fears, worries, and questions that a lot of little children have.
Big Bird lives right on Sesame Street in a huge bird nest, where he is able to see all of the action on this wonderful street. Many times, he asks a question which becomes the central theme of a particular show, with Big Bird going from one person (or Muppet!) asking the question, and putting taking the information in as a child would do.
Big Bird often can be heard asking “Why?” as any parent of a young child knows, is par for the course!
