Return to the days of the Wild West; Saturday morning TV, cowboys and Indians, and good guys in white hats, vests, and chaps. Children of the 1950s knew that no cowboy hero was ever as great as Roy Rogers. Merchandising in the 1950s included Roy Rogers pins, pistols, cowboy hats, and even lunch boxes. Boys of all ages secretly wanted to be Roy and wear his famous white cowboy hat.

Today you can still find Roy Rogers memorabilia. Roy Rogers pins, holsters, and action figures are still available, although becoming scarce. Why are these items so popular? Perhaps it reminds us of a time when life was simpler and heroes were easy to identify. It was a time of black and white TV (in living rooms!) and simple black and white choices.
