Young boys (and girls!) in the 1950s just loved to dress up like their cowboy heroes, especially the legendary Roy Rogers. Roy Rogers was seen every week in his own exciting TV show.
The 1950s were days before it was possible to tape your favorite shows while they aired on television. So, this meant that if you wanted to see a favorite show, you had to be there, in front of your little black and white television screen while the show aired. And, there were plenty of little boys and girls who eagerly awaited the Roy Rogers weekly show, many of them with their very own replicas of Roy Rogers’ hat!
Not to worry! There was also a Dale Evans (Roy’s wife) hat. Both Roy’s and Dale’s versions of the hats had the Roy Rogers/Dale Evans brand on them… a Double R Bar brand.
Today, there are several versions of these prized possessions.
