My Little Pony is a brand brought to the world by the manufacturer Hasbro where toy ponies were marketed to young children. Their wildly colored bodies and manes help identify them as such.
The first generation of My Little Pony had special markings on their haunches that symbolized their particular names. The brand was launched in the United States in the year 1983 and became very popular during the 80s. However, the original line of these toys ran from the year they were launched until 1992 in the United States, but 1995 in European countries.
Several different types of My Little Ponies came onto the market. Rainbow Ponies started off a different branch of the brand; they all had manes the colors of the rainbow. Twinkle-Eyed Ponies eventually surfaced, this type had rhinestones for eyes. Another type was the Brush n’ Grow Ponies. These had longer tails that hid inside their bodies and could be drawn out by brushing.
My Little Pony inspired several animated shows – including an animated feature film and two cartoon television series. My Little Pony was brought back into the mainstream United States market in 1999, but it was back on the market in 2003 globally. My Little Pony has been around for over 25 years now, and it’s safe to say they might just keep reinventing themselves to keep up with the new generations.
