One of the best science fiction shows ever to air on television was Lost in Space, starring Van Williams and June Lockhart. They played the Robinsons who, along with their children and co-pilot, embarked on a mission to Alpha Centauri. Things went horribly wrong and they ended up, as the title suggests, lost in space. This led to adventures galore.
