One of the early episodes of the Lost in Space TV series was “There Were Giants In the Earth.” In this show, the Robinson family, their co-pilot Major West, and the paranoid stowaway, Dr. Smith, have to deal with the cyclops. It’s a great episode, and it was the impetus for a successful model kit from Aurora.
When completed, the Lost In Space cyclops character model stands menacingly over its enemy, whatever it may be. He holds a rock, ready to toss it down and thwart his attackers. The model kit has actually been re-molded and is once again offered for sale today.
The fun of the Lost In Space cyclops is that most anything can be placed around it to serve as its nemesis.
