Lost in Space is a hilarious sci-fi series from the 1960s. The storyline centers on the futuristic Robinson family who are seeking the distant planet of Alpha Centauri to escape the overpopulated earth. They become hopelessly lost after the show’s villain – Dr. Zachary Smith – sabotages their spaceship.
The series featured well-known actors such as June Lockhart and Guy Williams, but the “star” of the show was the robot. Bob Mays was the actor who portrayed the Lost in Space B-9 Robot, but he is not well recognized for the role. Many believed a real robot was used for the part. Dick Tufeld was the voice of the Lost in Space B-9 Robot, delivering lines such as “Danger, Will Robinson!” that are recognized even today.
