Lego is one of the most popular construction toys available. Legos are made of plastic, and have little round grooves that snap together with each other, making them fun and easy to put together and even easier to take apart! Imagination is what fuels these little construction building blocks.
Legos are made in Denmark, but are truly international toys. There are even Lego amusement parks in various locations around the globe (Denmark, Germany, England, and California). The first little plastic building blocks were made in 1949. Ole Kirk Christiansen was the original maker of Legos. It is difficult to believe, but Lego pieces from the late 1950s and Legos made this year will interconnect. Once they came up with their winning design, the folks at Lego never changed the basic interlocking pieces.
However, Lego does not just make the interlocking building bricks. There are motorized parts and all sorts of gears that can be used to make building with Legos a work of architecture! There are even Lego building blocks for toddlers (Duplo Legos).
