Popularized in the 1960s, Hess Toy Trucks released new models every year and continue to widely distribute their trucks and toys worldwide. The Hess Toy Truck released in 1975 had a redesigned cab and box trailer that matched the Hess Co. delivery fleet. The toy truck also included three oil barrels of which were chrome, as were the tires.

The color of the 1975 is lighter than the 1976 model, and labels were not added to the oil barrels. The 1975 Hess Toy Truck is molded in green with red wheels and bumpers. There are rear doors that open and close, and sliding doors on either side. The 1975 release also has working head and tail lights with a light switch under the trailer.
