Snake Mountain is a location in the series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe that is located on the dark hemisphere of the planet of Eternia. Snake Mountain is the place the series main antagonists (including Skeletor) live. Although Skeletor and the other antagonists were introduced relatively early in the series, the location of Snake Mountain was not revealed until later and Skeletor’s hideout was said to be “amongst the catacombs deep under Eternia”.
The history of Snake Mountain was only touched upon a few times during the He-Man series run. It is not known how old Snake Mountain is but there is some insight given in the episode “Golden Disks of Knowledge” where it is revealed that Skeletor was the one who built Snake Mountain with wisdom stolen from Zanthor.
