Mer-Man was one of the fictional characters of the He-Man cartoon series Masters of the Universe released in the early 1980s. Mer-Man was one of the major henchmen of Skeletor in the ongoing battle with He-Man. Mer-Man was featured in many of the original cartoons and has become a sought after toy collectible.
He was the king and leader of an amphibious humanoid species who lived in part of the oceans in Eternia. It has been stated in some cartoon episodes that he is not only the king of the amphibious humanoid creatures, but also rules over all that is beneath Eternia’s oceans. Mer-Man’s home territory is called Crystal Sea and he is a powerful ally of Skeletor (Lord of Destruction) who rules over Snake Mountain.
