Almost everyone is familiar with the board game called Checkers. Some people may know the game as “English draughts” – but both games are played on a board that is made up of sixty four squares (an eight by eight board) with the squares alternating between two colors.
The object of Checkers is to knock all of your opponents Checkers (pieces) out of the game. The moves are made diagonally – going forward. Once a marker makes it all the way to the other side, it is king-ed. That king marker can move diagonally either forward or backward. When a marker jumps over the other player’s marker, they capture that marker, and it is taken out of the game.
