Backgammon is a board game which is played by two players. Each player has their own pieces (markers) which are moved around the board. The rolling of dice determines how many “spaces” a marker can be moved.
Backgammon game sets can be very simple boards with plastic markers. But, there are many exquisite examples of Backgammon game sets. Backgammon sets can be handmade carvings with mosaic tiles. Backgammon cases can be made of wood or leather – with “specialty markers” made of different gems and stones.
